Summer Sneakers

Summer is almost here and my feet are READY. I've been curating my sneaker rotation for a while now and I think I've finally landed on the perfect lineup for this season. We're talking chunky soles, clean silhouettes, bold colors, and a whole lot of personality. Here's everything that's going to be on my feet this summer.

Nike P6000 — The Silver Girl

We are starting strong with the Nike P6000 in silver and I am not taking any questions. This shoe is giving futuristic, it's giving Y2K, it's giving everything. The metallic finish catches the light in the best way and the chunky sole makes it one of those sneakers that elevate a simple outfit without even trying. Throw these on with a sundress or some baggy jeans and you're already winning. This one is a summer staple, no debate.

New Balance 1906R — The Unexpected Favorite

I'll be honest — I wasn't sure about this colorway at first. The yellow-green and silver combo felt bold, but the more I looked at it the more I fell in love. The 1906R has that perfect dad sneaker energy that somehow looks incredibly clean and put together. It's comfortable, it's unique, and nobody is going to be wearing the exact same thing as you. That alone makes it worth it.

Nike Air Max 87 — The Classic That Never Gets Old

There is something about a denim Air Max that just feels like summer to me. The blue tones, the mustard laces, the slightly worn-in look — this colorway is giving vintage, relaxed, and effortlessly cool all at the same time. The Air Max 87 is one of those silhouettes that has been around forever for a reason. It goes with everything and it never looks out of place. This one is going to be getting a lot of mileage this summer, literally.

Adidas Sambas — The Snake Print Moment

Okay so the Samba has been having its moment for a while now and I fully jumped on board — but I did it my way. The teal snake print on these is absolutely stunning and I love that it feels different from the classic Samba you see everywhere. The gum sole ties it all together perfectly. These are the kind of shoes that make people stop and ask where you got them, and that is always the goal.

Adidas Taekwondo Mei — The Sleeper Pick

This might be the most underrated shoe in the rotation and I need people to pay more attention to it. The Taekwondo Mei has this incredibly clean, minimal silhouette with just the right amount of edge. Black and white with a gum sole — simple but sharp. It has a slightly retro feel that makes it look expensive without screaming for attention. These are the shoes you wear when you want to look like you know something other people don't.

Adidas Samba Jane — The Statement Piece

I saved the most dramatic for last and I have absolutely no regrets. The Adidas Samba Jane in red is a SHOE. The Mary Jane strap takes the classic Samba silhouette and flips it into something completely different — feminine, bold, and a little unexpected. Red is the color of the summer as far as I'm concerned and these are going to be making an appearance at every opportunity. If you've been sleeping on the Samba Jane, wake up.

Summer 2026 is going to be a good one for the feet, I can already tell. Which one is your favorite from the lineup? Drop it in the comments — I need to know! 👇🖤

March Books

Everything I Read in March 📚🖤

March was a READING month, y'all. I don't know what got into me, but I knocked out eight books, and I have zero regrets. From spicy erotica to emotional gut-punches to feel-good romance, this month had a little bit of everything. Let's get into it.

You Could Do Damage & You Could Do Damage Too — K.C. Mills (@authorkcmills)

I started the month off with a two-for-one and K.C. Mills did NOT let me down. If you've never read her work, she has a way of writing characters that feel so real it's almost uncomfortable — in the best way. Both books had me flipping pages faster than I could keep up. The tension, the drama, the romance — chef's kiss. K.C. Mills is truly in a league of her own and these two are proof of that.

Curvy Girl Summer — Danielle Allen (@authordanielleallen)

This book made me laugh out loud multiple times, and I am not exaggerating. Danielle Allen wrote Aaliyah with so much personality and warmth that you immediately feel like she's your best friend. The banter between her and Ahmad? Absolutely unmatched. If you're looking for a fun, body-positive, friends-to-lovers romance that also has real heart to it, this one needs to be at the top of your TBR. It's the kind of book that just makes you feel good.

Maame — Jessica George (@jessicabgeorge)

Okay, this one. THIS one. I was not prepared for how much Maame was going to sit with me. Jessica George wrote something truly special here — a story about growing up, cultural identity, grief, and finally learning to live for yourself. Maddie's journey is one that so many of us can see ourselves in, and George handles every heavy topic with so much care and honesty. I cried. I laughed. I finished it and just sat with it for a minute. A genuinely beautiful book.

Therapy Session & Session Two — D. Scott (@dscottwrites)

Listen. LISTEN. D. Scott said let me take you somewhere you've never been and she delivered on every single page. These two books are short, they're spicy, and they are absolutely not for the faint of heart — but the plot is there too, don't let anyone tell you different. I loved the concept, I loved the characters, and I especially loved that there was real story holding all that heat together. Book one set it up perfectly and book two took everything up a notch. If you've been sleeping on D. Scott, it's time to wake up.

Stepped — Nicole Jackson (@authornicolejackson)

Nicole Jackson writes erotica like nobody else in the game, and Stepped is another example of why her readers ride so hard for her. This one is taboo, it's bold, and it's unapologetically itself — which is exactly what you want from a book like this. She doesn't do anything halfway and it shows. Not for everyone, but for the right reader? Absolutely everything.

Fast — Millie Belizaire (@milliebelizaire)

I saved what might have been my most emotional read for last. Fast by Millie Belizaire is one of those books that creeps up on you slowly and then completely breaks you open by the end. It deals with trauma and survival in such a raw, honest way, and the love story woven through it all just makes it hit even harder. Caprice's story is not an easy one to read, but it is so, so worth it. Millie Belizaire is a writer who genuinely has something to say, and I will be reading everything she puts out from here on.

All in all, March was a fantastic reading month. Eight books, zero duds, and a whole list of new authors I'll be following closely. If you've read any of these, drop a comment — I want to talk about ALL of them. And if you haven't, consider this your sign to get started. 🖤

Happy reading, Cydnye
