March Books

Everything I Read in March 📚🖤

March was a READING month, y'all. I don't know what got into me, but I knocked out eight books, and I have zero regrets. From spicy erotica to emotional gut-punches to feel-good romance, this month had a little bit of everything. Let's get into it.

You Could Do Damage & You Could Do Damage Too — K.C. Mills (@authorkcmills)

I started the month off with a two-for-one and K.C. Mills did NOT let me down. If you've never read her work, she has a way of writing characters that feel so real it's almost uncomfortable — in the best way. Both books had me flipping pages faster than I could keep up. The tension, the drama, the romance — chef's kiss. K.C. Mills is truly in a league of her own and these two are proof of that.

Curvy Girl Summer — Danielle Allen (@authordanielleallen)

This book made me laugh out loud multiple times, and I am not exaggerating. Danielle Allen wrote Aaliyah with so much personality and warmth that you immediately feel like she's your best friend. The banter between her and Ahmad? Absolutely unmatched. If you're looking for a fun, body-positive, friends-to-lovers romance that also has real heart to it, this one needs to be at the top of your TBR. It's the kind of book that just makes you feel good.

Maame — Jessica George (@jessicabgeorge)

Okay, this one. THIS one. I was not prepared for how much Maame was going to sit with me. Jessica George wrote something truly special here — a story about growing up, cultural identity, grief, and finally learning to live for yourself. Maddie's journey is one that so many of us can see ourselves in, and George handles every heavy topic with so much care and honesty. I cried. I laughed. I finished it and just sat with it for a minute. A genuinely beautiful book.

Therapy Session & Session Two — D. Scott (@dscottwrites)

Listen. LISTEN. D. Scott said let me take you somewhere you've never been and she delivered on every single page. These two books are short, they're spicy, and they are absolutely not for the faint of heart — but the plot is there too, don't let anyone tell you different. I loved the concept, I loved the characters, and I especially loved that there was real story holding all that heat together. Book one set it up perfectly and book two took everything up a notch. If you've been sleeping on D. Scott, it's time to wake up.

Stepped — Nicole Jackson (@authornicolejackson)

Nicole Jackson writes erotica like nobody else in the game, and Stepped is another example of why her readers ride so hard for her. This one is taboo, it's bold, and it's unapologetically itself — which is exactly what you want from a book like this. She doesn't do anything halfway and it shows. Not for everyone, but for the right reader? Absolutely everything.

Fast — Millie Belizaire (@milliebelizaire)

I saved what might have been my most emotional read for last. Fast by Millie Belizaire is one of those books that creeps up on you slowly and then completely breaks you open by the end. It deals with trauma and survival in such a raw, honest way, and the love story woven through it all just makes it hit even harder. Caprice's story is not an easy one to read, but it is so, so worth it. Millie Belizaire is a writer who genuinely has something to say, and I will be reading everything she puts out from here on.

All in all, March was a fantastic reading month. Eight books, zero duds, and a whole list of new authors I'll be following closely. If you've read any of these, drop a comment — I want to talk about ALL of them. And if you haven't, consider this your sign to get started. 🖤

Happy reading, Cydnye
